10 steps to follow in order to be successful in life







How do we define success? There are many different tactics for how to be successful in life, but the strategy that works best for you may depend on your view of success itself. We often think of it as doing well at work or earning a high salary. While professional accomplishments can be one piece of the puzzle, it leaves out many other important areas of life. Family, romantic relationships, academics, and athletics are just a few areas where people may strive for success.

Your individual definition of what success is exactly may vary, but many might define it as being fulfilled, happy, safe, healthy, and loved. It is the ability to reach your goals in life, whatever those goals may be.

So what can you do to boost your chances of achieving these things? What are some of the habits of successful people?

There is no single right way to be successful. What works for you might not work for someone else. There may not be a perfect combination of ingredients that can guarantee success, but there are some basic steps you can follow that can improve your chances of being successful in life, love, work, or whatever happens to be important to you.

1.Build a Growth Mindset.




Research suggests that there are two basic mindsets that influence how people think about themselves and their abilities: the fixed mindset and the growth mindset.

People who possess a fixed mindset believe that things such as intelligence are static and unchangeable. Those with a fixed 9mindset believe that success isn't a result of hard work—it's simply a consequence of innate talents. Because they believe that such talents are something people are either born with or without, they tend to give up more easily in the face of a challenge. They quit when things do not come easily because they believe that they lack the inborn skill needed to excel.

Those who have a growth mindset, on the other hand, feel that they can change, grow, and learn through effort. People who believe that they are capable of growth are more likely to achieve success. When things get tough, they look for ways to improve their skills and keep working toward success

2. Set Ambitious Goals.




Every success story starts with a goal, a purpose or an objective, right? When setting goals, you should never shy from aiming high. Remember, you can achieve your goals when they are intrinsically motivating. Set time bound goals so they can push you to the best of your abilities. This helps you think more creatively and achieve the extraordinary.

3. Get rid of stagnating thoughts.




Thoughts influence feelings and feelings determine how you view your work. You have a lot of thoughts in your head, and you always have a choice of which ones tMIo focus on: the ones that will make you emotionally stuck (fears, doubts) or the ones that will move you forward (excitement, experimenting, trying new things, stepping out of your comfort zone).


4.Do Not Be Afraid of Failure.





Pay Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently. 
Pay attention to your failures, study them. Perhaps then you’ll learn how to succeed.


5.Develop Mental Toughness.



Mental toughness refers to the resilience that some people have to carry on and continue trying even in the face of obstacles. People who possess this mental strength see challenges as opportunities. They also feel that they have control over their own destiny, are confident in their abilities to succeed, and are committed to finishing what they start.

6.Surround Yourself with The Right People.




You might not have realized it yet but what people think about you and how they perceive you, goes a long way in influencing your performance. Ever wondered why a child develops the same expectations as their parents have for them. Surround yourself with people who motivate you and act as a source of inspiration, rather than folks who take up a special pleasure in demotivating you and exude a negative vibe that eats at your productivity. If you surround yourself with successful people, you can be more productive.

7. Get rid of distractions.




Meaningless things and distractions will always be in your way, especially those easy, usual things you would rather do instead of focusing on new challenging and meaningful projects. Learn to focus on what is the most important. Write a list of time-wasters and hold yourself accountable to not do them.


8. Always Maintain a Positive Mental Attitude.



Replace negative thoughts with the positive ones. You need to approach problems, not as obstacles stopping you, but merely tasks that need to be completed for you to keep going.
If you stay positive and think like this, setbacks won’t affect you so much, people’s doubts won’t impact you and even the biggest obstacles will seem like minor problems.

9. Don’t rely on others.


You should never expect others to do it for you, not even your partner, friend or boss. They are all busy with their own needs. No one will make you happy or achieve your goals for you. It’s all on you

10. Willing to Work Hard.




You might have heard the quote that “success is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration” or you may have heard about the 10,000 hours idea.
Whichever way you frame it, they say one thing:
True success comes from work!.
You’ll never become successful if you don’t work towards your goal in life and keep working towards it.
